If you are looking for an exciting, interesting and beautiful location for your next camp, pack holiday or training event there is nowhere that can match the wide variety of activities and accommodation available in Derbyshire.
Girlguiding Derbyshire has accommodation suitable for all age groups, Rainbows through to the Trefoil Guild. There are equipped, unequipped and lightweight camping sites for overnight hikes, expeditions weeks or weekends away.
Most of our accommodation is situated near a variety of activity centres providing archery, abseiling and climbing, caves and caverns, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, horse riding, swimming and walking. Less strenuous activities include nature trails, well dressing and lots of local places of interest to visit.
There are dozens of stately homes, museums and National Trust properties to explore as well as the spa towns of Buxton and Matlock and hundreds of picturesque villages and towns, many set in the beautiful Peak National Park.
Days out include: Heights of Abraham theme parks and the world famous Blue John, Speedwell and Poole’s Caverns. Step back in time at the National Tramway Museum and Bolsover Castle.
Traffic free walking and cycling is available on the High Peak and Tissington Trails or take a journey on a steam train operated by Peak Rail between Matlock and Rowsley.

PAX HOH CAMP SITE
Equiped or unequiped camping
Pax Hoh is situated at Hulland Ward, four miles from Ashbourne at the southern end of the Peak National Park. It is in easy walking distance of Carsington Reservoir which has a large water sports centre with qualified instructors for canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and rafting. Around the Reservoir there are bird-watching hides, way-marked nature trails, cycle track, cycle hire, picnic areas, and adventure playground and ample parking. There is also a beautiful visitor and education centre with shops.The site offers equipped or unequipped camping for up to 60 campers. Facilities include a purpose built toilet and shower block with full disabled access and a payphone. Electricity for hot water and showers is provided via a pre-pay meter. A small resource room contains games and other equipment for activities including a set of pioneering poles. During 2010 a new wooden building was provided on site which can be used as a drying room or wet weather shelter. Campers may cook on open or gas fires, a woodpile is provided along with a campfire circle.

PAX TOR HOLIDAY HOUSE
A fully equiped brownie house.
Pax-Tor is situated on a wooded hillside overlooking the Derwent Valley and is an excellent location for walking and exploring the local towns of Matlock and Bakewell.
The house is fully equipped for 18 children and 3 adults. Beds are bunk type in one main dormitory with a leaders bedroom at one end.
Sleeping is allowed downstairs but the maximum number to sleep in the house is 24. The large fully fitted kitchen/dining room has two large electric ovens/hobs.
The lounge area contains a variety of reading and activity materials and has an open fireplace, (with fireguard) and fuel supplied.
Outside there are a covered patio, barbecue and camp fire areas.
Offsite activities include swimming at Matlock and Bakewell, The Heights of Abraham and Gullivers's Kingdom theme parks. The Red House Stable Museum. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House with its adventure playground are both within easy reach.

GLENBROOK
Outdoor Activities Centre.
Equipped or unequipped camping & equipped indoor accommodation.
Glenbrook Outdoor Activities Centre is set in the heart of the Peak District between the villages of Hope and Hathersage. It is an ideal base for Brownie, Guide and Senior Section camps, Guider weekends and training events both indoor and outdoor.
A range of self catering indoor accommodation is available for individual groups ranging in sizes between 10 and 40 people. The Centre is open throughout the year with comfortable centrally heated buildings set in pleasant grounds.
Glenbrook accommodates 30 with a lounge, fully equipped kitchen/catering facilities, dining room, two main dormitories and three smaller bedrooms. Peveril is a self contained flat at the top of the house & accommodates 10 in a single dormitory.
Derwent is a purpose built block adjacent to the main house. It accommodates 35 in two dormitories split into private rooms with up to 4 beds in each room and two leader’s rooms. It has its own toilets, showers, large common/activity area, fully equipped kitchen/catering facilities.
Outside there are five camping areas situated in 9 acres of beautiful grounds. These are available fully equipped or unequipped. A purpose built toilet/shower block and campfire circle, are available. Activities available on site or nearby include archery, abseiling, climbing, caving, cycling, walking, weaselling, pioneering, an indoor bouldering wall, outdoor heated pool.
