A fully equipped residential house

Pax-Tor is situated on a wooded hillside overlooking the Derwent Valley and is an excellent location for walking and exploring the local countryside near the towns of Matlock and Bakewell.

The house is fully equipped for 18 young members and 3 adults. Bunk and single beds are available in one main dormitory with a leader’s bedroom at one end. ​Ideal for smaller groups from all sections due to its intimate layout, but also versatile for the larger groups using maximum capacity. Priced on an individual cost per night basis to facilitate this.

Sleeping is allowed downstairs but the maximum number to sleep in the house is 24. The large fully fitted kitchen/dining room has two electric ovens/hobs.

The lounge area has a home-from-home atmosphere with bench seating and 4 fireside chairs. The room is heated by a solid fuel stove adding to the ambiance.

There is a covered patio ideal for crafting outside whatever the weather as well as three barbeque and campfire cooking areas. Located on the edge of Northwood Carr a delightful wooded hillside ideal for nature walks, exploring and trails.

Nearby activities include swimming at Matlock and Bakewell, The Heights of Abraham, Gulliver's Kingdom Theme Park, Matlock Farm Park and The Red House Stable Museum. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth  House with its adventure playground, are both in easy reach.​
